Today is the start of the solo concarneau. This is the last race before the solitaire du figaro that starts in 28 days time!

35 boats have gathered to practice, play and see if they are up to speed in this final race pre race.

It is looking like a tricky race. 340 miles long and with a couple Of fronts passing over the race course some big shifts are expected and a range of wind strengths from light sub 8 reaching up to 30 towards the end of the race.

With forecasts and routines showing a lot of close reaching especially around the transition between big kite , small kite and genoa making ing the right sail call at the right time will make a huge difference.

The tide will as ever play I big part in the race. As we pass through the raz de Sein with tide turning against us it looks like there are big gains to be made by tucking right in to the rocks to get some relief. The down side been the large chop/ waves that occur in these areas... Keeping the boat in one piece is obviously the priority especially this close to the solitaire du figaro.
