A cracking week spent down in Penzance (mounts bay). One of the most beautiful places to sail in the UK and a friendly local club.

Having been a busy season in the Figaro, we only managed a couple of days training before the champs.

Having built and developed a new boat with multiple merlin champion and legendry boat builder John Turner it was quite different from our previous merlin. So a little under practiced and unfamiliar with the boat the aim was to learn how the new ship handled in race conditions in a range of wind and sea strengths A predominately perplexing light winds week we only got to strech our legs in the final race of the week, with cracking waves too. Ending up 4th we were a little disappointed with the final result but felt we came away with a great amount of knowledge about the new boat and how she sails, handles and requires to win the champs in 2017.

A little more training, sailing and racing is required for next years champs. It was also nice to end the week on a high winning the silent world trophy, having found a bit of pace in the breeze. We managed to simplify the set up and get our head out of the boat , work hard and race. Cheers Nick Craig for a great time.

We will be back!
