On the 25th June Alan will be taking part in the first race of the Figaro season the Solo Maitre Coq sailing out of the famous Vendee region from the same pontoons that will later in the year host the Vendee Globe boats.
Rewind the clocks back three and a half months on the 13th of March Alan along side his fellow Figaro skippers was on the very same pontoons ready to take part in the same race. this is when, after finalizing measurement, the news arrived that the french sailing federation FFV had stopped all sailing events. the rest as we all know is history.
So now 8 months since the last Figaro offshore race the time has come for the boats to line up again in competition and in preparation for the pinnacle race of the season the Solitaire du Figaro (Starting 30th August).
Having traind hard over the winter before the lock down with the Pole Finistaire Course au large, Alan accumulated a huge amount of hours in the boat and now having returned to France he has been re-accustoming himself with his Figaro DEEP THOUGHT #42. the aim is to continue to learn, develop and prepare for the main race of the season.
You can follow Alan in this exciting two to three day race online with the tracker :
This is promising to be a great event with 30 skippers lining up on the start line including some of the biggest names in the sport such as Armel Le Cleach , Yann Elies and many others.
Alan continues to be supported by his loyal sponsors that create the "ALAN ROBERTS RACING FAMILY" this really is a testament to their belief in Alan and the project .
